# Environment Variables for Participant Configuration

## Environment variables in the `.env.config` file

Before executing the Participant initialization script, ensure that the variables below are correctly set in the `.env.config` file, as they determine how the initialization process configures the deployment.

### Marketplace

Environment variables defining the OE Marketplace instance to which the users created in the Authentik server provisioned by the User Management Pack (Federated Identity Provider) connect.

#### MARKETPLACE\_URL

**Description:** Specifies the URL of the Marketplace server that Participant users connect to. This value must match the [MARKETPLACE\_URL](/infrastructure/user-management-package/environment-variables/environment-variables-for-dataspace-operator-configuration.md#marketplace_url) configured in the corresponding Dataspace Operator deployment.

**Values:** String (URL)

**Example:** `https://market.demo.oceanenterprise.io`

**Default Value:** `null`

### Central Identity Provider Shared with Participant

Environment variables that define the Central Identity Provider - the Authentik server deployed by the Dataspace Operator - to which the Federated Identity Provider provisioned by the User Management Pack connects. These values are supplied by the Dataspace Operator as part of the Participant onboarding process.

#### CENTRAL\_IDP\_WELL\_KNOWN\_URL

**Description:** Specifies the URL of the well‑known endpoint of the Authentik provider configured on the Central Identity Provider for Marketplace authentication. This endpoint is used by the Participant initialization script to retrieve the provider’s OIDC endpoints and related metadata.

**Values:** String (URL)

**Example:** `https://ocean-node-vm1-stage.oceanenterprise.io:9443/application/o/main-oidc-app/.well-known/openid-configuration`

**Default Value:** `null`

#### CENTRAL\_IDP\_CLIENT\_ID

**Description:** Specifies the Client ID of the OIDC provider configured on the Central Identity Provider for Marketplace authentication.

**Values:** String

**Example:** `abcedfghijk`

**Default Value:** `null`

#### CENTRAL\_IDP\_CLIENT\_SECRET

**Description:** Specifies the Client secret of the OIDC provider configured on the Central Identity Provider for Marketplace authentication.

**Values:** String

**Example:** `strongsecretkey`

**Default Value:** `null`

#### CENTRAL\_IDP\_PROVIDER\_NAME

**Description:** Specifies the name of the OIDC provider configured on the Central Identity Provider for Marketplace authentication.

**Values:** String

**Example:** `oe-market-provider`

**Default Value:** `null`

### Signer Server

Environment variables that configure the Signer Server component provisioned by the User Management Pack.

#### NODE\_URI\_MAP

**Description:** Sets the list of blockchains in which the Signer Server component provisioned by the User Management Pack signs transactions. For each blockchain, the following details are specified:

* the RPC endpoint used to access the blockchain
* gas multiplier: Scales the per‑unit gas price that the Signer Server uses when submitting blockchain transactions. The network‑estimated fee is multiplied by this value, and the result becomes the effective gas price paid per gas unit. Increasing the multiplier raises the transaction’s competitiveness and helps ensure timely inclusion during periods of network congestion. \
  **Note**: We recommend using the default values provided in this variable for each blockchain. If the multiplier is not set for a blockchain, the default value is used, which is as follows:
  * Ethereum Sepolia (chain no. 11155111) = 3
  * OP Sepolia (chain no. 11155420) = 2
  * OP Mainnet (chain no. 10) = 1.5
  * Ethereum Mainnet (chain no. 1) = 2.

**Value:** Array of objects

**Example:**

{% code overflow="wrap" %}

```json
NODE_URI_MAP= [{"11155111":{"key":"https://eth-sepolia.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>","multiplier":3}},{"11155420":{"key":"https://opt-sepolia.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>","multiplier":2}},{"10":{"key":"https://opt-mainnet.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>","multiplier":1.5}},{"1":{"key":"https://eth-mainnet.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>","multiplier":2}}]
```

{% endcode %}

Here's the structured format of the same value.

```json
NODE_URI_MAP=[
  {
    "11155111": {
      "key": "https://eth-sepolia.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>",
    }
  },
  {
    "11155420": {
      "key": "https://opt-sepolia.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>",
      "multiplier": 2
    }
  },
  {
    "10": {
      "key": "https://opt-mainnet.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>",
      "multiplier": 1.5
    }
  },
  {
    "1": {
      "key": "https://eth-mainnet.g.alchemy.com/v2/<ALCHEMY_API_KEY>",
This provider name must be unique within a dataspace, as it serves as the identifier of the Participant. To this end, the Dataspace Operator might set up a naming convention in the onboarding procedure for dataspace participants. For instance, the provider name can be set to `<participant_name>-provider`.
## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:
```
GET https://docs.oceanenterprise.io/infrastructure/user-management-package/environment-variables/environment-variables-for-participant-configuration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```
`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
