# Deployment Steps

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note:** Signer Server **v1.0.0** supports only the **RS256** signing algorithm for JWT tokens. Signer Server **v1.0.2** supports both **RS256** and **ES256**.

When using Signer Server **v1.0.0** with JWTs issued by Authentik, Authentik must be configured to issue JWTs signed with the **RS256** algorithm. Please follow the guidelines, [Configure Authentik to Use RS256](/operational-guidelines/user-directory-management/configure-authentik-to-use-rs256.md), to update the Authentik configuration accordingly.
{% endhint %}

As outlined in the introduction to the User Management Package, this can be deployed by both data space operators and data space participants. Because these two entities differ not only in their deployment requirements but also in the resulting system configuration, the package provides two distinct deployment modules: one for Data Space Operators and one for Data Space Participants.

This chapter covers all stages involved in deploying the User Management Package, including:

* [Hardware and Software Prerequisites to run the User Management Package](/infrastructure/user-management-package/deployment-steps/prerequisites.md)
* [Pre-installation steps](/infrastructure/user-management-package/deployment-steps/pre-installation-steps.md)
* [Deployment steps for Dataspace Operators](/infrastructure/user-management-package/deployment-steps/dataspace-operator-deployment-module-installation-steps.md)
* [Deployment steps for Dataspace Participant](/infrastructure/user-management-package/deployment-steps/dataspace-participant-deployment-module-installation-steps.md)
* [Post-installation steps](/infrastructure/user-management-package/deployment-steps/post-installation-steps.md)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.oceanenterprise.io/infrastructure/user-management-package/deployment-steps.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
